Another Ceasefire, Another Negotiation

Israel is now participating in another 72-hour ceasefire with Hamas in the Gaza Strip. The Prime Minister has been straightforward and open in his motivations concerning the war in Gaza. He wants quiet (meaning no rockets flying). But his motivations may be working against him. Hamas is starting to figure him out and using his desires as negotiating chips. Hamas, of course, wants the impossible: the blockade opened, a seaport, an airport, and free access to and from Israel. Given the present circumstances in the Gaza, with Hamas arming and doing everything possible to hurt Israel, Israel cannot agree to any of their terms. But they are negotiating.
If Israel relaxes the hold on Gaza for a pledge of disarming and not shooting rockets, the enemies of Israel will view it as a victory. Even worse, Hezbollah in Lebanon may be prompted by Iran to start shooting rockets into Israel. The worst that can happen is Israel bombs Lebanon, some minor incursions into Lebanon, and another ceasefire. With the ceasefires come more negotiations, such as the return of the Golan Heights or Sheba Farm (both disputes lands on the border) to Syria.
At the moment, many Israelis are frustrated with Netanyahu. They want Hamas eliminated; the problem solved. What most people in the world do not know is that the President of the United States is supporting the Palestinians and in particular Hamas. The President does NOT want Hamas eliminated. The President preaches that the Palestinians are neighbors that Israel must accept as the land belongs to them also.
It is on this last point that the lies of this conflict reside. The truth is that Hamas and every other Arab nation other than Jordan and Egypt (they signed peace treaties) are still calling for the death of Israel and all Jews. The idea that the land originally belonged to the Palestinians is bogus. There has never been a nation of Palestine nor a people indigenous to that land. The Romans took it away from Israel, the Persian's took it for a while followed by the Greeks. The Byzantines held it until the Crusades against the Muslims. Eventually the Turks held it until WWI and it became a British mandate before the UN. In 1948, Israel declared themselves a state following the UN declaration for a Jewish Homeland (the Arabs never agreed with the British or the UN). Bottom line: there NEVER was a nation of Palestine. There is no land being “occupied” by Israel. It is all a lie to justify killing Jews after the Holocaust.

So here we are. Israel is just trying to exist and not be wiped out before our eyes. Another ceasefire, another negotiation.
